To each their own merits
Some quick updates.
I've terminated my last job at Great World City (as an admin asst for about 3 miserable wks) n am now onto my second job in Raffles Place at Rodyk and Davidson, one of the largest law firms in Singapore, or so i'm told. I'm into my second week there now. n wat can i say, i'm having a helluva better time here than i did at bloody Arch Chemicals. Fucking miserable company with some of the most miserable human beings (actually, jus one or two) i've ever had the misfortune to come across. Grrr. I hope they come to no clean end. Watever.
Anyway, if it isn't bad enough that i've not had a crush on any guys for the past 4 years, now i'm working under these two totally cute female attourney and legal executive. Actully, jus one of them is totally cute, the other's jus really nice. The totally cute one is jus so my type man that i'm so gonna crush on her! Lolx. For easier reference for the rest of this entry, i shall jus call her WL.
Maybe its cos they're lawyers n professionalism calls for them to hold themselves this way, but they're a couple of the most shuai qi females i've come across. At least that was my first impression of them. Then i lunched with WL on that first day n totally broke my impression of her 'professionlism'. She's so playful and hyper-active man! Jus totally how u'd not expect a lawyer to behave. n was i surprised to learn during that same lunch that CC (the other legal executive i'm directly working for) is married. Or at least, i think i heard right, since i din probe into it so i'm not so sure. But both of them dun seem the, erm... sort who likes men. Especially WL. She looks totally butchy and even though it may be becos of her charcter that makes her look young, she must be in her late 20s or 30 already (she kept refering to me and another 20+ yrs old corporate lawyer we were lunching with as 'babies'). But even she was lamenting about a lack of boyfriend??! *sound of my heart and dreams shattering*
Wat is the world coming to?!! Dress like a woman if u wan a man n stop giving me hopes! Hmph! *pout*
So u see. I got my heart broken n my hopes squashed in the course of that short lunch on the very first day of work. HMPH! Bleeaaah! -.-
Arh... anyway, i'm a little sick right now.
Got a very pinful sorethroat now that i noe from experience will escalate into a full-blown flu that will last for weeks if i dun nurse this throat back soon. So lots of Ricola n throat soothers for me now. But had to give up going for this Buddhist religious lesson with Hx today because of it. n i was pretty looking forward to it too =/
I've been really interested in getting some learned teacher to teach me scriptures (or 'fo2 jing1') for quite some time now. There're certain (scripture) lessons that u can't understand from jus reading scriptures yaself (even if i were to borrow them from god noes where) and can only learn from a learned teacher. I'm talking of course, about people who preach their respective religions. Unlike Christian organisations which are so proliferic, Buddhists' unassuming n inconspicuous ones makes them harder to seek out. I find myself fortunate to noe a fren like Hx who actully attends these lesser-known religious lessons. Before knowing her i'm hardly aware that, like Christian's Sunday churches, these Buddhist's religious lessons exists too. Hopefully, if i'm fated with this (since Buddhists teachings are about 'yuan', or fate), i'll be able to make it to the lessons next week or so.
Ah, but for the record, its not like i'm converting to Buddhism or anything. I'm still proud to be a free-thinker. I'm sure i dun strike anyone as a very religious person anyway, ahaha! But learning can never be too much dun u think? n i believe that China and Buddhism's 5000 years worth of history will be able to teach me some life lessons. To each religion their own merits. I may yet to have learned something about myself i've not already known.
