Jap curls?
Okay.... this is going to sound like a very bimbotic entry, so bear with me.
Should i go for Jap curls or my usual rebonded hair again this time?
My hair has totally grown out of its rebonded state monkey ages ago, and since i've postponed going for a haircut for so long and my hair grows so fast that my black roots that have since grown out covers more area than my dyed ones, i've now wat u would call an unruly black mop for a head.
Shucks. No wonder i dun have any guys hitting on me for two months now.
Just kidding =p
So i tot its high time to go give myself a treat by going to a nice hair salon for a haircut with the money i've so painstakingly earned so that i may enjoy such material pleasures with but had instead decided to scrimp n save n give to my mum to cover family expenses for the past 2mths (no kidding. the last time i checked, i had un-countingly given my mum more than three-quarters of all my salary).
Wat the heck i tot, its time for me to spend abit of my own money.
So i happily went to Far East Plaza with Hx on friday intending to go to Hollywood's Secret for a haircut (Xl introed me; she had a hircut there and Chris said it was pretty marvellous. The stupid bundang.).
But wat do i see when i finally found the shop?
A $148 package that includes everything from hair consultation, rebonding, jap curls, digital perm, haircut, wash, colour, highlights, hair and colour treatment and et cetera, et cetera.
xin dong anot???
wah, can u believe such a good deal?! n not from a neighbourhood salon oso leh, Hollywood Secrets sia!
Wah, excited man! Even Hx (who incidentally was oso looking for a cheaper salon to rebond her hair) found it a good deal.
But becos I wasn't at all mentally prepared to go for rebonding or anything more than a simple haircut that day, I enquired with their hair consultant (who incidentally was a pretty nice lady, not those hiao n overly made-up hairstylists u see in salons like Jean Yip, Kimage or Jentzen) on wat she would recommend I do to my hair from all the choices in the package.
After analyzing my hair for awhile (wah, I paiseh to let her touch that mop of bristles oso, but she's very nice, din comment on how bad my hair was blah blah blah need wat treatment blah blah blah like other hairstylists), she recommended that I go for Jap curls n this darker shade of brown hair colour.
Jap curls leh.
Wah sai, I can't even imagine how I'll look in any kind of curls.
N becos the variety of Jap curls are so variant, I asked her wat kinds she receommended. N the two she showed me from magazines are chao curly can?
Not the big waves shu nu sort, but those very... fashion-forward sort.
Aiyah, very curly jio dui le.
That on me, unless I dye goldish or do lots of highlights, I'm going to look chao auntified with. Or at least, that's how I imagine I'll end up looking anyway -.-
But the choices are up to me anyway.
But becos I wasn't mentally prepared for such a big hair makeover that day, n becos the salon was going to close in an hour's time anyway (it was 7.30pm, n their salon closes at 8.30pm on weekdays. 7.30pm on weekends. Biang.) and I estimated my whole hair would take about 4-5 hrs to do (rebonding or Jap curl long hair 3hrs, haircut n treatment 1hr, hair dye n highlights 1-2hrs. damn. Can have two meals in the shop le.), I decided to take some time to think.
So here I am now.
Wat shd I do wat shd I do...
Too bad I'm not good with Photoshop. Otherwise I can experiment with how I'll look like with both rebonded hair n the different kinds of Jap curls.
Rebonding is safe, but I know I always look bad the first month or so after the rebonding when my hair is so straight it tends to plaster on my face -.-
Jap curls would be a new experience that I can try if I feel adventurous enough. But the matter of wat type of curls is a big headache n probably the biggest deterrent.
Curls tend to make one look older than they already are, and thats wat i dun need. On the other hand, it can soften a person's looks (with the right sorta curls), n depending on wat kinda curls, cn look very nice indeed.
Either way, for the hair colour I'll listen to the hairstylist's opinions, but will definitely do highlights.
Btw, I cant dye too light a colour anyway becos I'm oso doing the rebonding/Jp curls at the same time so i'll spoil my hair if I do too many treatments in a day (light colours has a lot of bleaching properties). Highlights are ok I guess becos its selectively choosing parts of the hair only, so at least my whole head wont be (more) dry and brittle.
Rebond or Jap curls... Suggestions anyone?
I'll be making an appointment for next weekend (or thurs/fri if I am taking a day's leave from work for school) so I have about a week to decide.
Meanwhile, guess I gotta keep my eyes peeled for any gals who sport a nice head of Jap curls... or alternatively, any deterring hideous examples...

What do you do when u're experiencing a bout of bad luck? Stay at home and blog all day of cos
Yesterday can be summarised in one word: SUAY.
or more explicitly, suay ga lao sai.
I can't believe it, i haven had this much bad luck since god noes when.
I had sch that morning so took leave from work n went out with Xiang for sushi buffet n karaoke after that. It was late when i was going back so after i alighted from my bus, i decided to take a shortcut through the the park home.
The park which i had only walked through a couple of times before with my sis. The park where i had to cross a wooden bridge over a huge monsoon drain.
It was close to midnite and the ground was wet from rain in the evening. And might i add... the stupid bridge's topography was curvilinear. Might i also add, that it was made of very painful gravel. Very painful for the person who slip n fall n skid half a foot across on her bare knees becos she was so stupid to choose to wear her short skirt that day instead of her nice warm jeans that, aside from saving her from losing half the skin on her knee, wud also have kept her warm throughout the day in the cold lecture theatre n cold sushi retaurant.
And to add insult to injury, this suay girl flung out her arm to grap the wooden rail of the bridge for support which was built exactly for this purpose, missed the railing by a foot, and swung her very expensive, designer, n only wearable denim jacket at the moment that was orignally hung onto her arm into the dark abyss of the monsson drain.
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOP!!!
SUAY ANOT??!
Notice that i wrote in the third person? Becos its too suay for me to believe it actually happened to me even when my knee is hurting everytime i stand up n sit down now.
The last time i fell down was since my secondary sch-days ok?! Like since sec 3 or 4... have totally forgotten the pain of having to skin ya knee (so immature, careless, clumsy, humiliating, unbelievably suay), the incovenience of walking, bathing, dressing n undressing that accompanies a skinned knee.
n my beatiful denim jacket!!!
xin tong. =<
When i looked into the darkness of the monsoon drain trying to look for my jacket, n finally found it lying spread-eagled in the shallow waters, n saw the vast tiled walls at the two sides of the monsoon drain, i gave up hope of getting it back. Which is just as well, because even if there was a way for me to get down (if i'm stupid enough or physiclly fit enough to try), with my luck that day, i'll probably get my leg stuck somewhere, meet with a downpour in the middle of the nite or otherwise, the morning high tide, n then drown n die.
Which brought my thoughts to wat would anyone who saw my jacket - lying faced-down, spread-eagled, reminiscent of a man lying faced down - floating in the shallow waters at first light, thought?
It sure looked like someone jumped n drowned n had his clothes float to this part of the large drain...
Anyway, after i stood up from the fall, it hadn't started to hurt yet. n becos i couldn't see my own knee standing up n wasn't sure whether i had skinned my knee in the fall anot (Yeah, rite. Gravel n i still had to think), i brought a hand down to cover my right knee (the one i landed on most heavily n slid across half the floor with). When i brought it up, it was covered with blood. And i looked down n saw my whole knee bloody.
After i hobbled home (which was still a fifteen minutes walk away; or twenty in my state) and opened the door, the first two sentence i said to my sis was "Da4 xiong1 ri4. Jian4 xie3.", before pointing down to my knees. Having received my msg awhile ago n heard a short version of wat happened, she was like, "Qi1 yue4 wor, ni3 zhuang4 gui3 arh?".
............ -.-
*Translated, that means it's the Seventh Month, our Ghost Festival here where our other-worldly brothers n sisters are free to roam around earth during a good part of the whole month, making lots of mummies (no pun intended) telling their children not to stay out late. Like me. Which seeing as my dear mother was aslp at the moment, my dearer sister took it in herself to advice: "Shui2 jiao4 ni3 zhe4 yang4 wan3 hui2 lai2?". (*translated, that's "Who ask u come back so late?" or the Chinese version of "I told u so" -.- ).
Blah blah blah....
Anyway, after painfully hobbling around in the office ytd, I decided its better to stay home n walk as little as possible today. But seeing as my aunt from KL is in Singapore to visit, guess i may have to take her around somewhere over the weekend or next week after work...
Where do I take someone from out of town that I haven't been to a thousand times n haven gotten too sick of?? Seeing as I've lived in Singapore for the past 20 years myself n everything seems boring or banal after awhile, I've not much idea wat wud interest someone who haven visited Singapore for a long time.
n then there is the inevitable spending.
There goes my salary.
But I guess that can't be helped. She's family.

Inu-Yasha Theme Song Collection
Ooooh..... my sis has downloaded some Ayumi's songs for me (i'm going to get beaten up by Ayumi's anti-piracy fans). At least now i can hear wats the difference between the original n acoustic orchestra versions of some songs. The acoustic orchestra versions of most songs are better, but Ayumi's signature high n sometimes scratchy voice sounds even scratchier in these. Her vocals in the originals seems better.
Or maybe its jus the quality of my mp3 =/
Oh, but wat do i care. Its free after all.
n another reason y i can bochup this (mind u, my sis isn't even quarter of the way through the list of Ayumi's songs i gave her so i'm still waiting)... I've found a new love!!
Inu-Yasha Theme Song Collection!!!
I.MUST.GET.THIS.
Holy sacred DVDs!
It has (nearly) all the soundtracks from Inuyasha's many seasons of anime n movies can?! At least, all the nicest ones. Awwww.... does Singapore even have this still?
All the CDs n stuff i wanna get are from donkey years ago, the less marketable ones are prob already cleared from the shelves. I remember seeing it in HMV couple of years ago. But i hadn't watched Inuyasha's anime then n couldn't noe how amazing the songs are.
I.MUST.GET.IT.
If anyone sees it in any music stores pls let me noe can??
Its a 2 CDs volume and has the Inuyasha's anime cast of characters on its front cover.
//
Lolx!
I'm becoming famous in my office for the coffee i make. Everybody's mouth waters when they smell mine. Even the tea-dinkers. Hahaha...
Though i've offered to make it for them, they were too nice/paiseh to accept. Why? I really dun mind.
But i wonder why the difference though... aren't we all drinking the same coffee beans?

I Am... and Ayu-Mi-X V.4: Acoustic Orchestra Version
I AM...
Ayu-Mi-X V.4: Acoustic Orchestra Version
Wat the fark is the difference between acoustic orchestra and remix?!
Been looking up the net on Ayumi's album to decide which one to buy and i keep coming across these two terms. They both sound like some bloody techno dance music to me. Wat happens to good clean old *ALBUM TITLE* full-stop?
n the two albums i'm looking at (still deciding, fickle old me) are her donkey old albums so HMV isn't likely to have them on the 'try out' stereos where i can listen to.
Simi si acoustics? Simi si remix?!
Remix wat?? Ballads shd sound like ballads wat, nan dao make them into dance-floor techno meh??
Wah lao. Donkey years since i last bought a music CD, n the music industry now taking revenge by confunding me. Biang.
Trying to make sense from the various reviews on these two albums n from wat i get so far, the Ayu-Mi-X v.4 is a remix of mostly I Am's songs. At least i got that straight. Now how do i noe without listening to them whether the remix or original sounds better??!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Arrgh.
Apparently (upon further searching), there's more than one version of v.4!!
n its even more messed up!!
Ayu-Mi-X V.4 + Selection Non-Stop Mega Mix Version
Radio-mix, single-mix, non-stop mega mix, astraly mix, DUB mix, remixed by this person, remixed by that person... like i noe who they are like that -.-
Looks like i've to head down to HMV over the weekend again.
But i'm pretty certain they dun have it on their test radios... fark.
Wonder will the HMV in City Link have...

Unexpected tenants
Just changed my blog template!!!
Been meaning to do it for the past 2 weeks... Couldn't see the pics n sometimes even the tagboard in my old one. Dunno is the prob with my sis's new laptop or that mozilla firefox dun suppport my old template, so tot i'd change.
Its time anyway. I've had the old one for wat? nearly a year?
Adjusted this template myself, haha!
Spent the whole evening doing it...*grimace*
not sure if the fonts too light or dark now...
do leave me a tag to let me noe if u think i shd change the body font to darker or even lighter yeah? it used to be black, but really straining on the eyes against this backdrop. (Check out my profile n u'll noe wat i mean. I left the body font for my profile untouched, for variety's sake.)

Hmmm...
a mother cat n her just-borned kittens have recently moved into our shoe cabinet just outside my house. They moved in two nites ago according to my sister.
The mother is a black n brown striped tabby and her three kittens are each brown-striped, orange and white balls of fur. The white one hasn't even open its eyes yet, n my sis remarked that it looked like a white mouse. Its fur was pure white.
The power of genetics. I wonder how their father looked like.
We were quiet when we closed the door of the shoe cabinet.
Was remarking that we may keep the white one if they stayed...
No objections from anyone.
Just to be sure, i casually repeated myself again.
Still no objections.
Hopeful.

Cuppa java
I'm chugging coffee again.
Have i mentioned how good the coffee is at my office?
Little wonder. Lawyers need all the caffein and niccotine they can get to facilitate their heavy brainy workload.
It explains why they all stink to high heavens after they return from lunch n smoke/coffeebreaks. One whiff of them walking pass occasionally is enuff to make me grateful that
1) they have their own partition rooms
2) they have their own secretaries to run their office errands for them thus minimalising the air contamination when they walk around themselves
Seriously. They smell more like those grunge old sun-baked construction-site workers who chain-smokes all day that u had the misfortune to sit beside or stand near during peak hours on the MRT train than someone who works in a nice clean office at a desk-bound job.
All right, i digress.
I was talking about coffee.
The grounded coffee beans are so aromatic its like none of the soluble or evaporated instant coffee beans i've tasted so far. Yet that's what it is.
I've got to ask the pantry auntie what brand it is next time.
Or find some way to get my hands on the same coffee beans somewhere or other.
This temp job is not going to last indefinitely and i must have this coffee when school reopens!
*mouth waters at the thought of the piping hot cup of coffee...*
