Freak out! Its the week of Splurging!
Finally went for my rebonding couple days ago ^.^
Platform salon at Orchard Emerald, a mere 98 bucks for my long hair.
Nice pple there :)
Even went back for some touchups ytd at the roots when i wasn't very satisfied, n they were all smiley about it. But then again, it may be becos i was trying to be nice bout it too n not be a difficult customer.
But overall, quite satisfied with it; at least its not as flat n scalp-clinging as my previous two rebond jobs.
(Haha, as they've done a good job on me, feel inclined to give them a small advert ;p )
Went shopping at Bugis with Vivian after that, n i'm soooo happy!
Bought my bag n slippers at long long last!!! X)
n its as close to my dream bag as can be - a pale gold ladies bag (sorry, dunno how to describe, jus take my word for it when i say its damn chio) thats big enuf for me to bring to sch n chio enuf to bring anywhere, shopping, town, functions, parties, chiong, n if i take very gd care of it, i may even be able to use it for Chinese New Year!
*whoots*
Saw a similar bag (but colour not as chio) at Far East Plaza for a freaking $49.90 or $69.90, but knew the same products wud be loads cheaper at Bugis street, thats y i'd been hankering to go there shop since i've seen some of those dreamy bags (that unfortunately costs a freaking bomb) at Far East.
n guess how much i got my bag for in the end at Bugis?
A mere 25 bucks!!!
i could sing n dance in joy i tell u!
its so chio~!!! >.< X) *.*
But the only down side of it was that its made of the kind of material which colour would fade with prolonged use. Even tho the bag could lasts me 2 years or more, its colour (around the handles n straps) prob wun last more than 6-mths to a year of constant use.
Aiyah, mai hiam buey pai lar!
Its not like pple wud notice handles n shoulder straps much rite?
n besides! its only 25bucks!
Man, i've died n gone to heaven! X)
Its so chio i'm telling u, its so chio!
n to match the occasion, i bought gold-chromed flip-flops too. A mere 5 bucks. Lolx!
Are they a steal or wad??!
If u're wondering y i'm so happy to buy stuff, the answer is obvious isn't it?
I DUN GO OUT MUCH!!
LOLX! =P
Or at least, since i'm so not an impulsive buyer, it takes me ages to shop, compare prices, shop somemore, before i decide to buy anything (aside from food n grocery =p); i dun get to spend much money or buy much stuff that aren't absolutely necessary.
(My rebond is an exception - i had procastinated 3months before getting it done.)
Saw this cross necklace at Bugis that i wanted to buy since my own cross necklace is tarnished already n i gotta replace it, but couldn't justify spending ten over bucks for smth unneccessary... (my bag n shoes are giving out, they are necessary).
Ooooohhh...
So happy, both of us found wat we wan there (vivian her bag too).
Such a successful shopping trip!!
Bugis' stuff are so cheap lor ( i wun say dirt-cheap, its an exageration i wish was true, cos dirt is free), its always worth it to curb ya impulse while shopping in Far East Plaza (or elsewhere for that matter) n make a trip to Bugis street/village to see if u can find the same or similar products at a much marked-down rate.
n u can haggle there too!
*smilez*
Wud def go down Bugis village the next time i need smth ^.^

Fri no sch, sat n sun stone, mon no sch... die from boredom i tell u.
Anyway, some quizzes courtesy of Vivian's blog :)
Happy laughing at the 'authenticity' of it - I sure did =p
The Real You
Here is the analysis:
1. You've got great self-confidence and you're full of charm. Most guys who get to know you will be attracted to you. You are far from sweet and proper; your intriguing personality fascinates them. Most guys find it easy to fall for a girl like you.
2. You really care about other people's feelings and are quite serious about the issues that affect your life. You are sincere, and your concern for the well-being of others makes many people want to be your friend.
3. You are a bright, cheerful and bubbly person. You are thoughtful and considerate, and like to have fun. Everybody feels comfortable around you because of your pleasant nature. When you walk into a room, people's eyes are likely to be drawn to you because of your charm.
4. Your peers think of you as a fun person, but sometimes you can be a little irresponsible. You can be somewhat childish, and can try to ignore the fact that you will one day need to really grow up and be a mature adult! Perhaps you could start reading good books; they might help you look at the world in a different light. You do want to be taken seriously, right?
5. Your boyfriend believes that you are a strong and independent person. Your confidence and cheerfulness make you an attractive person to be around, but sometimes you need to pay more attention to what other people, including your boyfriend, are thinking.
What type of personality do you have?
Here is the analysis:
Kind and Gentle
Your kindness is your charm - you are also gentle and sweet. Everybody likes to be around people with your personality. Like a psychologist, people like to talk to you to discuss their problems because you are proper and discrete, as well as confident. You look mature and people respect you. People with this kind of character are few and far between.
Your Hidden Talent
Here is the analysis:
The Mass Communicator
You have a cheerful personality and you are a naturally kind person. Your hidden talent isn't really that hidden at all: you shine among a crowd. You would make an ideal news announcer, flight attendant or model - any position that would give you an opportunity to deal with plenty of people. A tip for you is to avoid getting too deeply involved in others' personal lives - otherwise you might find yourself constantly being asked for help.
Who is your dream guy?
Here is the analysis:
Unlike most others, he walk on his own path. He's creative and willing to learn about anything. Music and movies are his favorites. He's kind to everyone. You can feel his inner beauty through his words. He's comfortable among a circle of friends. He's looking for someone to share his hobbies.
How do you choose your soulmate?
The decisions you have made indicates your criteria in choosing your soulmate.
More important matters come first on the list below:
1. Education
2. Money
3. Love
4. Appearance
Quite bad of me, but unfortunately, quite true...
Loads of interesting tests with pretty funny answers... lolx! (At leasts thats wat i think.) Try it out *winkz* ;)

Not so un-common denominator
"All of our values are simulated. What is freedom? We have a choice between buying one car or buying another car? Its a simulation of freedom."
- French philosopher Jean Baudrillard
Sort of an irony against my earlier post isn't it?
We may think our decisions to buy certain clothes, cosmetics, go for certain beauty treatments, our choice of accessories and styles are our own, but wat are they really except a force of society that would assimilate us with the norms and approvals of the mainstream otherwise?
Ultimately our choices are not our own, but shaped by how we gauge others will view us through these actions or decisions.
The ultimate mockery of the most stylish, trend-setting, always-two-steps-ahead-of-fashion, 'unique' individuals on the planet. Which applies to most artistes in the music n movie industries.
Unfortunately, even a few artistes i admire come to mind... Madonna... Ayumi Hamasaki... and the likes.
Sort of puts them in a different perspective when u c them in this light isn't it?

Quirks
Have just gone for mole removal today.
One (or three teeny-tiny ones joined tail by tail)near the inner corner of my eye that had grown inexplicably in my JC days, and another one at the far right of my face in front of my ear that have been there forever.
Strangely enough, i didn't do it for vanity reasons. Truthfully.
Because they weren't very obvious to begin with.
No one noticed unless i pointed it out (as is the case for so many things in life - we all see wat we wish to see; and need neon signposts blatently pointing out the direction to show us things we are not looking for).
But wat had prompted me to go remove them then?
Not so surprisingly, the person - who as is her usual off-beat, no-brains, and tactless self - tells me that she tot i had a 'mascara smudge' near my eye was... aye, Apple.
*Cue: gag*
Rolls eyes.
Will the wonders to this gal's social ineptitude ever cease?
Nevertheless, it has indeed brought my attention to the mole(s) near my eye. While not being obvious when i'm looking into the looking-glass, it becomes especially so when i continue to train my eye on that one spot. As a result, i've grown so irritated of having my gaze drift to that little corner of my eye that i have no qualms about doing a mole removal on the spot (unlike fickle old me who may usually take 2 months to decide on a course of action) as long as i find a good beatician to do it.
But then....
Apple *cue gag* and glory suddenly warned me against doing it.
Their furtive methods and reluctance to say why made me guess...
n i was right - a fren of ours who had removed a mole on her face last year had met with a series of misfortunes after that, the saddest of which was her bf passing away after meeting an accident this year. Though there's no signs that any of these mishaps happened becos of her mole removal, the two of them were inclined to draw some suspicions.
I have totally no patience for this kind of superstitions.
Wat surprises me was that it came from them two - two ang moh pai gals, not the cheena sort who grows up with such grandmother's heresay throughout their lives (in fact, i'm a more likely candidate and i've heard little to none such stuff in my memory).
They said, at the very least, if i wanted to remove it, to go check it out with some of the pple well tutored in such studies whether is it a good mole or bad mole (and hence does removing it bode evil or good). This! Coming from the mouths of those two! The least persons i'll expect to here such grandmother talk from.
My god.
Sigh... i regret to say that they did sway me with their words...
Things like 'better to be safe than sorry'... and 'ning ke xin qi you, bu ke xin qi wu' (its better to believe, than to be sorry for not believing) pops into my head, endlessly drilled in by their mantle week after week (since i only see them once or twice a week during our subject's weekly lectures, and since i had indeed put off removing the mole due to the superstitiousness drilled into me).
But more consequentially as a result from their all these removing of mole good/bad beliefs bullshit, i begin to recall that the mole(s) near my eyes started growing during my JC days, and thats when my mum lost her job and all my family shit begin...
That's why i wanted to do this mole removal so badly.
So that in case my fears were true, i could 'zhuan yun' (change my fortunes, or rather my family's fortunes or through them me). It made me more convinced, if anything, that removing these moles will only be good; can't be bad.
When i brought this up with them, saying that it can only get better, how can it possibly get worse (believe me, i noe my own family fincances), when Apple replied, "You'd never know..."
THAT STUPID MOTHERFUCKER!!!
I was so pissed off i nearly slapped her.
It was all i could do to clench my teeth and look away.
Watever.
In the end i conceded to going to check out with such 'specialists' before i go for the mole removal. Just to get a peace of mind.
But how wud i noe who actually does these kind of 'kan xiang' thing?! Which is why its dragged week after week till a of couple days ago when my mum suddenly tot of this guy she went to get her fortunes told last time. He was a Bhuddist and doing God's work, and in all respects a pretty ok guy (as i found out later on). Went down with her to visit him ytd, and confirmed wat i tot...
That the mole near my eyes if anything, aren't good; thereby giving me the green light to go head with my mole removal :]
Shun bian asked him bout the mole at the right side of my face too - it has no good or bad significance, therefore removing it or not is not of consequence.
Had been asking around beauty salons for their mole removal prices, and went to CosLab today - cos they had the most reasonble prices and at least a well known enough rep.
25bucks in total for all 4 moles.
The 3 near my eye and the one at the side of my face.
Was a nervous, jittery wreck before (took me the whole afternoon with Hx to convince me to step into the salon and go for it), but the removl itself went quite uneventful actually. In fact, its more painless than i had imagine - had tot the laser-ing of the moles near my eyes will bring tears of pain to my eyes t least. No such thing, only some stinging pain and the smell of electric current and burnt flesh (as in a really chao da smell).
Waiting for the scabs to fall off on its own accord now...
If it hasn't totally dissapeared, i.e. residue of the mole still left behind, i can still go back for two more free treatments to solve it.
Heart feels a whole load lighter after i've done it...
relieve after having taken so long to make up my mind.
Maybe some of their superstitions are rubbing off on me, but the day(or rather night) does seem a lot brighter now... Lolx! ;p
