Quirks
Have just gone for mole removal today.
One (or three teeny-tiny ones joined tail by tail)near the inner corner of my eye that had grown inexplicably in my JC days, and another one at the far right of my face in front of my ear that have been there forever.
Strangely enough, i didn't do it for vanity reasons. Truthfully.
Because they weren't very obvious to begin with.
No one noticed unless i pointed it out (as is the case for so many things in life - we all see wat we wish to see; and need neon signposts blatently pointing out the direction to show us things we are not looking for).
But wat had prompted me to go remove them then?
Not so surprisingly, the person - who as is her usual off-beat, no-brains, and tactless self - tells me that she tot i had a 'mascara smudge' near my eye was... aye, Apple.
*Cue: gag*
Rolls eyes.
Will the wonders to this gal's social ineptitude ever cease?
Nevertheless, it has indeed brought my attention to the mole(s) near my eye. While not being obvious when i'm looking into the looking-glass, it becomes especially so when i continue to train my eye on that one spot. As a result, i've grown so irritated of having my gaze drift to that little corner of my eye that i have no qualms about doing a mole removal on the spot (unlike fickle old me who may usually take 2 months to decide on a course of action) as long as i find a good beatician to do it.
But then....
Apple *cue gag* and glory suddenly warned me against doing it.
Their furtive methods and reluctance to say why made me guess...
n i was right - a fren of ours who had removed a mole on her face last year had met with a series of misfortunes after that, the saddest of which was her bf passing away after meeting an accident this year. Though there's no signs that any of these mishaps happened becos of her mole removal, the two of them were inclined to draw some suspicions.
I have totally no patience for this kind of superstitions.
Wat surprises me was that it came from them two - two ang moh pai gals, not the cheena sort who grows up with such grandmother's heresay throughout their lives (in fact, i'm a more likely candidate and i've heard little to none such stuff in my memory).
They said, at the very least, if i wanted to remove it, to go check it out with some of the pple well tutored in such studies whether is it a good mole or bad mole (and hence does removing it bode evil or good). This! Coming from the mouths of those two! The least persons i'll expect to here such grandmother talk from.
My god.
Sigh... i regret to say that they did sway me with their words...
Things like 'better to be safe than sorry'... and 'ning ke xin qi you, bu ke xin qi wu' (its better to believe, than to be sorry for not believing) pops into my head, endlessly drilled in by their mantle week after week (since i only see them once or twice a week during our subject's weekly lectures, and since i had indeed put off removing the mole due to the superstitiousness drilled into me).
But more consequentially as a result from their all these removing of mole good/bad beliefs bullshit, i begin to recall that the mole(s) near my eyes started growing during my JC days, and thats when my mum lost her job and all my family shit begin...
That's why i wanted to do this mole removal so badly.
So that in case my fears were true, i could 'zhuan yun' (change my fortunes, or rather my family's fortunes or through them me). It made me more convinced, if anything, that removing these moles will only be good; can't be bad.
When i brought this up with them, saying that it can only get better, how can it possibly get worse (believe me, i noe my own family fincances), when Apple replied, "You'd never know..."
THAT STUPID MOTHERFUCKER!!!
I was so pissed off i nearly slapped her.
It was all i could do to clench my teeth and look away.
Watever.
In the end i conceded to going to check out with such 'specialists' before i go for the mole removal. Just to get a peace of mind.
But how wud i noe who actually does these kind of 'kan xiang' thing?! Which is why its dragged week after week till a of couple days ago when my mum suddenly tot of this guy she went to get her fortunes told last time. He was a Bhuddist and doing God's work, and in all respects a pretty ok guy (as i found out later on). Went down with her to visit him ytd, and confirmed wat i tot...
That the mole near my eyes if anything, aren't good; thereby giving me the green light to go head with my mole removal :]
Shun bian asked him bout the mole at the right side of my face too - it has no good or bad significance, therefore removing it or not is not of consequence.
Had been asking around beauty salons for their mole removal prices, and went to CosLab today - cos they had the most reasonble prices and at least a well known enough rep.
25bucks in total for all 4 moles.
The 3 near my eye and the one at the side of my face.
Was a nervous, jittery wreck before (took me the whole afternoon with Hx to convince me to step into the salon and go for it), but the removl itself went quite uneventful actually. In fact, its more painless than i had imagine - had tot the laser-ing of the moles near my eyes will bring tears of pain to my eyes t least. No such thing, only some stinging pain and the smell of electric current and burnt flesh (as in a really chao da smell).
Waiting for the scabs to fall off on its own accord now...
If it hasn't totally dissapeared, i.e. residue of the mole still left behind, i can still go back for two more free treatments to solve it.
Heart feels a whole load lighter after i've done it...
relieve after having taken so long to make up my mind.
Maybe some of their superstitions are rubbing off on me, but the day(or rather night) does seem a lot brighter now... Lolx! ;p
